🏃♂️ Nike Training Club on Netflix Launches Dec. 30: Everything You Need to Know It’s not always easy to motivate yourself to exercise, but the option to feel the burn and then directly transition into one of your favorite shows does have a certain appeal. And now, that’s exactly what you can do: Just before the new year, Netflix members will be able to stream fitness content from Nike Training Club for the first time ever.
🏈 NFL ‘Sunday Ticket’ goes to YouTube in seven-year, $2 billion annual deal The agreement will elevate YouTube’s profile in the competitive streaming space. At the start of the 2023-24 season, “Sunday Ticket” will be available two ways: as an add-on package on YouTube TV and as a stand-alone a la carte option on YouTube Primetime Channels, which allows you to subscribe to individual streaming services and channels as well as watch movies.
🎶 TikTok banned on devices issued by US House of Representatives “TikTok has been banned from any devices issued by the US House of Representatives, as political pressure continues to build on the Chinese-owned social video app. The order to delete the app was issued by Catherine Szpindor, the chief administrative officer (CAO) of the House, whose office had warned in August that the app represented a “high risk to users”. According to a memo obtained by NBC News, all lawmakers and staffers with House-issued mobile phones have been ordered to remove TikTok by Szpindor”
🎨 Pinterest (PINS) Shares Gained 28% in Q3 "Better performance came from Pinterest, Inc. (NYSE:PINS), an image-based social media company. Their shares surged 28% after reporting second quarter results inclusive of in line revenues and a higher level of monthly active users. Results were aided by large online retailers and international advertisers."
📦 Royal Mail hit by post-Christmas online outage “The Royal Mail app and website was unavailable on Wednesday for more than four hours, users said. The outage comes on the first day of regular post following strikes and bank holidays over the Christmas period. Down Detector, which tracks websites, showed that thousands of people had reported that the Royal Mail site was inaccessible. Visitors were presented with the message: "Our website is temporarily unavailable."
💰 $60K personal water toy lands $1M worth of preorders “It takes a special kind of boldness to raise a wad of cash, claim to have $90 million worth of preorders, then pivot away from passenger ferries and light container ships, and instead start selling $59,000 personal watercraft. Bold, yes, but the tactic seems to be working. Boundary Layer’s CEO and founder, Ed Kearney, told me the company has more than $1 million worth of preorders.”
🛠 Amazon is working on a standalone app for sports content, new report claims “The report comes as Amazon CEO Andy Jassy recently called live sports “a unique asset” that Amazon will continue to invest in. Amazon’s current live sports offerings include exclusive rights to the NFL’s Thursday Night Football, along with some Premier League soccer matches and Yankees baseball games. Amazon has also invested in other sports content to complement the live games, as the company launched original sports talk shows on both Prime Video and its ad-supported streaming service Freevee.”
🔵 Twitter Blue users can now upload 60-minute videos “After taking over Twitter, Elon Musk had long promised that the company is working toward making the platform more appealing to video creators. Today, Twitter updated the Twitter Blue page declaring that subscribers can now upload 60-minute videos from the web at 1080p resolution and 2GB in file size. Prior to the change, Twitter Blue subscribers were able to upload 10-minute videos on the platform at 1080p resolution with a file size limit of 512MB. Sadly, if you’re uploading from iOS or Android, this limit is still applicable.”
📈 User Interviews, which helps companies recruit survey participants, raises $27.5M “Most companies agree that user experience is important. In a 2019 report from UserZoom, 70% of enterprise CEOs said that they see user and customer experience as a competitive differentiator. But figuring out what exactly users want — and what frustrates them — can prove to be a challenge. Customer satisfaction and market research surveys have response rates ranging around 10% on the low end, and many user experience researchers say that they don’t have enough time for analysis of the results.”
